Week 6 - Article 3: Changing the Age for Missionaries
This article refer to President Monson's change of the age requirement for missionary service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Read the article and respond to this question:
How do you think this announcement will effect people you know? What effects will this change have?

Well, Fist at all it make me think that the fist coming of Jesus Christ is soon. Second, The prophet has revelation. The lds people understand the importance to share the gospel around the world. On the another hand, the young boys and girls who were waiting to serve a mission are going to send their papers right now, in consequence the MTC are going to be sodden. Anyway, Boys can go to serve a mission after their finish their high school and in my opinion that is good because they don't need to interrupt their college.
ReplyDeleteI think many people change their life plan. Especially women, Because age requirement change to 19. It is good for young adults. they can think their plan clearly after come back mission.

Changing the Age of missionaries is an awesomest thing in this General Conference. This dramatic change made many people were surprised and excited. Especially high school students who is getting graduate. And now, they could plan for their future after school to go on a mission and afterward get into a university around 20 years old.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinon is good inciative for everyone to go on in a mission after the high school, just mexico and 3 countries can do it, now every country can.
ReplyDeleteThis article is fantastic I am soo happy for that because I know our Prophet received revelation about mission. I have my youngest brother he is 17 , I am so excited because he is going to mission next year. I dont believe that but it is true.
ReplyDeleteThis article is interesting because Missionaries can go to their mission really soon, it is a great idea about LDS church. Girls and boys can go to the mission really soon, I love this article I feel this words are true.
ReplyDeleteNow we can see the importance that the church has to send missionaries around the world. It is important too, that young students start studying different careers. I think if the church wants to be more successful need to do some decisions similar to this. Also I am happy for that change about ages.
ReplyDeleteThis is really good, and it is easy to go on a mission for young people. I think that this is more effect to go on a mission, marry, and so on. However, there are many people who are changing their plan, so I really interested in how BYU changed. I hope most young people go on a mission, and they have good time.
ReplyDeletecesar: this is a good article and i like it. it is early so they dont have to be worry what they have to study or do and they will have more experience to do other things. i just wondering where are they going to live because many moman around the world would like to be a misionary but the MTC would have to many people living there.
ReplyDeleteThis video is interesting for me, even though I am not LDS. This is because as soon as you finish your high school, you can go on a mission, so you do not lost time. Because sometimes when you already finish your high school, you do not what kind of career it is better for you. Thus, it is lost time. However, If you already served a mission, you had had time to decide what career it is better for you.
ReplyDeleteI think there will be more adavantages for the members who wants to serve their mission. The Elders will enjoy serving a mission after their highschool. This is very beneficious because will be less difficult for them. For the sisters it will be too because they will server their mission younger and finish younger too. As result the church will have more missionaries serving around the world.
ReplyDeleteI really happy about this article because I know many people that wish to serve the mission but they can not do it for their age. Right now, they have the opportunity to serve the mision in their age, and I am sure that they will serve a very good mision.
ReplyDeletecesar pino: in my opinion ithink is a perfect time when the young people can go and serve after high school and they can go and serve and have a clear vision of what they want in their lives when they come back.
